How To Delete Stickers On iPhone Devices Fast
You could make a convincing argument that stickers are among the most divisive features on iPhones. We’re just going to admit it upfront; we love them. The Ghostek office is full of sticker fans, and we think that they’re a very fun way to personalise your messages. However, we’re not deaf to others' opinions and recognise that some of you can’t stand them.
Now, we understand that the obvious response is “well, just ignore them then,” but that isn’t always the solution. You shouldn’t have to put up with an unwanted feature on your phone; deleting them can free up space and help you avoid inadvertently clicking one at the wrong time.
So, say goodbye to ever explaining why you sent your boss that cartoon Pea Shooter thing from Plants Vs Zombies again. Here’s how to delete stickers on an iPhone.

How to Delete Stickers Individually
Let’s start by looking at how to delete stickers one at a time. To remove certain stickers and keep others, just follow these steps:
-
Open the messages app and select any conversation.
-
Press the plus sign next to the keyboard.
-
Click on ‘stickers’ from the options that appear.
-
Tap and hold on the sticker you want to remove.
-
Press delete.
This process will remove individual stickers, letting you delete any you don’t want while sparing the ones you want to keep. The benefit of this is that there’s no risk of it changing any of the other cool features on your iPhone.
You can also access the stickers menu via the emoji icon in the bottom left of the screen. There’s a symbol that looks like a circle with one end folded over: tap it, and you’ll see your stickers.
How to Remove Stickers En Masse
You can use a similar process to delete multiple stickers at once. It’s relatively simple and shouldn’t take more than a minute, unless you have a veritable British library of stickers installed on your phone and are very picky.
To do so, follow the same process as described above, but when you get to step five, press ‘rearrange’ instead of ‘delete.’ You’ll notice your custom stickers start to shake gently, and a minus symbol appears next to each one. Tap it, and they’ll disappear.
These changes will sync across all of your Apple devices that are connected to iCloud. This can be a serious time-saver, as it means your changes will affect multiple devices at once and you won’t have to work through each one individually.
How to Remove Sticker Packs
The best way to save space quickly is to delete any third-party sticker packs you’ve installed. It only takes a few clicks and will remove loads of them in one go.
This will be good news for any parents out there. We’ve all let our kids play with our phones occasionally, but if they’re not watching old cartoons on YouTube or playing Tetris, there’s always a risk that they’re downloading loads of extra nonsense that you don’t want.
Just got your iPhone back from your seven-year-old and found two dozen unwanted sticker packs taking up space? Here’s what to do:
-
Open a message.
-
Tap the Plus symbol.
-
Select ‘stickers’ and swipe left through the packs.
-
Tap ‘edit’ when you reach the end of the list.
-
You’ll find a list of installed sticker packs and be able to delete them.
Just while we’re on the subject, make sure you get a reliable protective screen cover if you let the children play with your phone. You’ll be glad you did.
How to Disable Custom Stickers in the Emoji Keyboard
Now, let’s consider an alternative to permanently removing stickers from an iPhone. You can disable the stickers function on the keyboard, and it only takes a few clicks.
This option is easy to miss. The easiest way is to:
-
Open your iPhone settings.
-
Tap ‘general.’
-
Tap ‘keyboard.’
-
Scroll down to the ‘emoji’ option.
-
Click the button to disable stickers.
This will remove stickers from the keyboard, but doesn’t delete them. In other words, if you need to message a business partner and don’t want to accidentally send them a cartoon picture of a cat waving by clicking the wrong thing, this is ideal. It removes the risk entirely, but you can still send that hilarious sticker to your son later.
Restoring Deleted Stickers
With all that done, your iOS devices should now be free of any unwanted stickers. But…supposing you were a bit overzealous and deleted a few stickers you’d have preferred to keep. What then?
Thankfully, restoring stickers is as straightforward as deleting them. Here are a couple of options to try before calling support:
Download From The App Store
Tap the app store icon and open your profile. You’ll see an option titled ‘purchased.’ Tap this, followed by ‘not on this iPhone,’ and you should see a list of all the sticker packs you’ve previously downloaded, including the free ones. From here, you can reinstall any you wish you’d kept.
Use A Previous Backup
Using the app store works most of the time, but on the odd chance that you can’t find your missing sticker packs, there is another solution.
You can restore your phone to a previous backup by following these steps:
-
Go to ‘settings.’
-
Click your profile details at the top.
-
Tap the ‘iCloud’ heading.
-
Tap ‘iCloud backup.’
-
Use one of your previous iCloud backups to restore the phone.
There are a few things to remember with this:
-
DO NOT use an incomplete backup.
-
Make sure the backup is dated before you deleted your stickers.
The two options listed above should work in most cases. However, if you encounter any further issues, the only remaining option is to call Apple support.
