Pixel 11 Pro: Rumored Specs and Price

Regular visitors to this website will know we’re more than a little excited about the upcoming Pixel 11. Google’s signature smartphone promises to be a welcome addition to the range.

It’s due to arrive this summer, and there isn’t long to wait. However, so far, we’ve focused all of our energy on the standard edition Pixel 11, and there’s more to the series than that.

The Pixel 11 Pro is (almost certainly) going to be released alongside the regular model. It’ll come with a heftier price tag, but will it be worth that extra cost? Our ever-dedicated online sleuths have looked into it. Here’s what we can expect.

The Google Pixel 11 Series

The Pixel 11 Pro is one of four phones in the upcoming release, the others being the standard base model, the folding Pixel 11 Pro Fold, and the big dog - the Pixel 11 Pro XL. A lot of the features we’ll describe in the following article will also be included in the others, but there are a few subtle variations to distinguish them.

But before we get into that, how much does the Pixel 11 Pro cost? This hasn’t been officially confirmed, but we’re predicting a price tag that starts around $999. This would make it $200 more expensive than the standard model.

Pixel 11 Pro: The Tech Specs

Assuming our crystal ball got that pricing correct, what does that extra expense get you? According to a recent post on Phone Arena, the Pixel 11 Pro will include:

  • 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage

  • A 6.3-inch display screen

  • 16GB RAM

  • Tensor G6 CPU

  • Updated Gemini Live AI support

That’s quite the tantalising list for tech heads, and that storage rumor is particularly interesting. The Pixel 10 Pro was available with 128GB storage, but it seems as though Google is abandoning the smaller model to keep pace with the wider smartphone market. Both Apple and Samsung are doing the same, so naturally, Google won’t want to be left behind.

Storage aside, that Tensor G6 CPU is also an eyebrow-raising addition. Why? Here’s why:

The Tensor G6 Chipset

The previous generation of Google phones relied on the Tensor G5, but it’s heavily rumored to be getting an upgrade. The Tensor G6 will be making its debut with the Pixel 11 series, and if the stories are to be believed, it’s quite the evolutionary leap.

We won’t go into the tech jargon here, as explaining the various cores made one of our interns go cross-eyed. However, rest assured that the Tensor G6 promises to make the Pixel 11 a faster and more efficient phone than previous models. It’ll be more secure too: it includes the Titan M3 coprocessor, which encrypts sensitive data.

The Pixel 11 Pro Design

Google is unlikely to deliver a radical redesign with the Pixel 11 Pro. We are expecting it to be recognizably similar to the Pixel 10 Pro, but the eagle-eyed among you might notice a few differences.

From the CAD renders that leaked online, the bezel surrounding the screen seems to be narrower. This gives it a sleeker aesthetic and, as one of our staff put it, “it’s got a Blade Runner vibe.” The camera bar looks different too, with a black module where the Pixel 10 had two shades.

And lastly, it looks like it could be 0.1mm thinner. This is very exciting, we can’t wait to put that extra room in our pockets to good use. We might be able to fit a Reese’s Piece in there.

What About the Pixel 11 Pro Camera?

Yes, we’re getting to the camera, don’t fret. It’s not that different from the Google Pixel 10 camera setup, but to be fair, that device gave us a lot of high-quality snaps, so we’re not too fussed. The expected specs are:

  • 50MP main camera

  • 48MP ultra-wide camera

  • 48MP telephoto lens, with 5x optical zoom

  • 42MP selfie camera

It’s said to include two new sensors, but we’ve yet to confirm any more details on them. We also saw some talk online about a possible 64MP periscope telephoto camera, but we’re starting to think that was just wishful thinking from an over-excited photography enthusiast.

Arguably, though, the most important camera-related rumors are connected to AI. Google is said to be improving its range of AI features and beefing up the camera assistant. Trying to find confirmed information about this is like trying to hold onto custard without a bowl, but it’s an intriguing rumor nonetheless.

The Pixel 11 Pro Battery

Google doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to smartphone batteries, and you’d expect them to try to avoid disappointing their audience with the Pixel 11 Pro. However, the news and rumors are mixed at best.

Reports from the frontline suggest the Pixel 11 Pro will support:

  • 45W wired charging

  • 25W wireless charging

  • A 4,707mAh capacity battery

Let’s hone in on that last point about the capacity. 4,707mAh is not terrible, but in the wider context, it’s not great either. The Pixel 10 Pro featured a 4,870mAh battery, and it’s unusual for a phone to have a weaker battery than the previous generation

Compounding this is the rumor that the standard model Pixel 11 comes with a 4,840mAh battery. If these are accurate, the Pixel 11 Pro will have less staying power than both its immediate predecessor and its cheaper, less powerful variant.

For the moment, we’re not leaping to any conclusions. It is entirely possible that Google has a trick up its sleeve and has optimized the Pixel 11 Pro so efficiently that it doesn’t need a bigger battery. Until we get hold of one and can carry out some testing, we can only theorize.

It’s also been suggested that the Pixel 11 Pro might have removable batteries. We’re in two minds on this. On the one hand, replacing a struggling battery can extend the life of a phone. It has sustainability benefits too. But on the other hand, it can impact the overall durability (there are more gaps for dust and dirt to get in), and there are potential security concerns too.

Looking Forward to the Google Pixel 11 Pro

Despite our concerns about the battery, we are very much looking forward to the Google Pixel 11 series. We’re going to be following the developments closely, so check back regularly to stay informed.
